Hi Sorrel

PINKIE TODAY

I was pinkied for HLR period 2 in the Dance studio. I realised there would be a room change, so I checked with Michelle, and also asked for a lesson plan. Classroom was S18. There was no lesson plan available, so Michelle and I went to their office and found Gentry Simpson, who was teaching parallel with me. We started our classes, then she came over and did the roll for me, and also took half the class with her to do practical work, while the rest stayed with me, working on their blog.

TRUMP/AKO Task checklist

This was the result of a quick brainstorm between Sorrel and me in October. I took photos but they were not clear. I typed up and tidied up our notes and the resulting document was discussed during the Languages Department meeting on Monday 9 November. It was well received.

Hello Annie

Below are new vacancies on the Education Gazette website that match your criteria.

Happy Birthday Gill!

This made me feel good, and valued, which is important when you are a member of a team. It’s good to show your appreciation for other people in your team as well, even if it is only once a year on their birthday. This tradition has been going on for years in the English Department here at OC, and Mel has brought her own newness to birthdays by adding cute pictures in a special email. We also have a card signed by everyone, and the birthday boy/girl gets a gift from the box of gift wrapped books donated for this purpose. In fact I found one recently which I am going to add to the box!

Minutes from this morning’s meeting

My notes from this mornings meeting:

1. I must make a note for myself to call students who are off for 3 days or longer to check how they are and keep kamar up to date.

2. We discussed the fact that with the best will in the world, students do forget the words so put the words back up, but find the music without someone singing in the background.

3. I have addressed the issue of bullying/proper respectful manaaki towards other students in form class several times. After this meeting today, I reminded them again that it is not acceptable to just stand by either. They could go and fetch a teacher or older student, or try to talk to the bully in a reasonable voice and talk them out of doing the bullying, or separate them (cooperation works wonders).
